Daily Chart Art – Mar. 21, 2017-Pippin Aint Easy

USD/CHF: Daily



USD/CHF is having trouble breaking below the .9950 area, which isn’t surprising since it’s right smack at a rising channel support that hasn’t been broken since May last year. What’s more, it’s also near the 200 SMA as well as the .9900 area of interest. The cherry on top of this sweet setup is an oversold stochastic signal. Will the Greenback extend its uptrend against the franc? Buying at current levels could give you a pretty good reward-to-risk ratio especially if you aim for the previous highs. near 1.0300. Make sure you manage your risks though, as the pair could also encounter resistance along areas of interests like the 1.0150 and 1.0250 handles!

NZD/CHF: Daily



Here’s a lil’ somethin’ for breakout traders out there! After breaking below a rising channel earlier this month, NZD/CHF looks set to retest the pattern’s broken support. What makes the potential retest even more interesting is that it also lines up with 38.2% – 50.0% Fibonacci retracement levels and is right above the 100 SMA that looks like it could easily cross below the 200 SMA. Breakout traders know that entering at a retest is one of the best ways to jump in. The pair still has a lot of room to cover before reaching it, however, so y’all still have time to whip up your trading plans and prepare for scenarios that may or may not work out for ya!

Chart Art: EUR/JPY’s Retracement & CAD/JPY’s Bearish Pennant

CAD/JPY: 1-hour



I’m goin’ Kyle today because I spy with my little eye a pennant I could get ’cause it can get many likes… from forex traders, that is.

CAD/JPY has taken a break from its selloff and is trapped in what looks like a bearish pennant on the 1-hour time frame. If you’ve read your School of Pipsology, then you know that pennants like these tend to signal trend continuation. Oh, and look at the 100 SMA still chillin’ like a villain below the 200 SMA!

Is the Loonie in for more weakness against the yen? Time to bust out your breakout strategies and prepare your trading plans for this one, homies!

EUR/JPY: 4-hour



Remember that Fib play that we spotted a while back? Well, it looks like the bulls weren’t ready to jump back in then. The pair dipped below the 120.00 handle and is currently trading around 119.50 levels.

Is it better to jump in now? EUR/JPY is sporting some wicked wicks around the broken channel resistance area. Not really surprising since it also lines up with an area of interest from February.

A long trade at market could get you a decent reward-to-risk ratio especially if you think that the euro will go back to its March highs. But if you think that the pair is set to extend its downtrend, then you could also wait for it to go back to its falling channel and trade a possible move all the way to its February lows or even new 2017 lows.

EURUSD – Euro/dollar sells off after false-break of resistance



Last week, the EURUSD sold-off from 1.0875 key resistance after the false break there at the start of the week, and moved lower into the week’s close. With price having fallen quite significantly last week, we can’t see any real chance of being able to sell near current levels. But, we can consider selling on strength early this week by watching for a pull back to the upside followed by a 1hr, 4hr or daily chart sell signal. We can also watch key support down near 1.0520 for buy signals if price tests that level this week, as that is the key support of the trading range this pair is in right now.

GBPUSD – Sterling/dollar bounces at near-term support



The GBPUSD bounced up from support near 1.2400 last week, a level we recently suggested traders look to buy on a pull back. We see the potential for prices to re-test 1.2620 – 1.2700 resistance area in the coming days. Whilst prices are above 1.2350 – 1.2400 we can look to buy on pull backs, ideally on a 1hr, 4hr or daily chart buy signal after the pullback.

AUDUSD – Aussie/dollar remains buoyant, waiting for price to approach key support



Following a strong bounce higher from key support near 0.7500 two weeks ago, price has since pulled back modestly, but is still trading above that key support. Our recent views of looking to buy on a pull back to support remain. We are watching 0.7550 – 0.7500 area as a strong potential buy zone either on a signal or blind entry.

S&P500 – S&P500 uptrend continues from pin bar buy signal



The S&P500 uptrend continued last week, moving higher following a bullish pin bar buy signal that formed near 2330.00 support, which we discussed in our members trade setups commentary last week on the day it formed. Traders not already can continue to look for buy signals at near-term support now seen from 2330.00 to the pin bar low from last week.

Gold – Gold remains buoyant, watching key support for buying opportunity



Gold has undergone a very strong surge higher since it bounced at $1200.00 key support; a level we had been watching for buying opportunities as we discussed back in our February 14th commentary. Our views remain similar; we see support at $1220.00 – $1200.00 as a key buy zone and ‘line in the sand’ for buyers / bulls, so we will wait and look to buy on a pull back to that support zone, either on a price action buy signal or a blind entry.
