The VN-Index closed this morning's session down by 1 per cent on the HCM Stock Exchange, which fell to 387.87 points. Losers outnumbered gainers by 147-65.






Market value, however, jumped 57.5 per cent over yesterday's level to VND877.7 billion (US$41.2 million) as more than 37 million shares changed hands.
Among blue chips, insurer Bao Viet Holdings (BVH) gained 1.6 per cent and Vietinbank (CTG) advanced by 0.5 per cent. Steelmaker Hoa Phat (HPG) and property developer Vincom (VIC) bottomed out while other blue chips retreated or closed unchanged.
With nearly 3.8 million shares changing hands, real estate service provider Hoang Quan (HQC) was the most active stock of the day although it hit its floor price of VND7,300.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed the day in green with 63.06 points, an increase of nearly 1 per cent after yesterday's sell-off.
The value of trades reached only 71.5 per cent of yesterday's session, totalling just VND278.8 billion ($13.1 million) on a volume of 30.6 million shares.
The most active code in Ha Noi was VNDirect Securities Company (VND) with 2.5 million shares traded at VND9,800, up 1.1 per cent.
