On 26/7/2010, in Taipei - Taiwan, Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with The GreTai Securities Market (GTSM) , Taiwan's over-the-counter (OTC) bourse. GTSM Chairman Gordon Chen and HNX Chief Executive Officer Tran Van Dzung signed the accord.
The MoU is to outline a framework for collaboration, serving long-term cooperation between Gretai Secrurities Market and Hanoi Stock Exchange by developing channels of communication, exploring business opportunities and facilitating knowledge and expertise.
On his speech, Mr. Dzung sai that: “We believe that such cooperation will benefit both Hanoi Stock Exchange and The Gretai Secrurities Market, as well as the investment community in the two markets”
“The MOU signed with the HNX is expected to enhance the GTSM's international visibility, while the OTC market expects to provide services to overseas Taiwanese investors through closer ties with the HNX,” Mr. Chen said in the statement.
Hanoi Stock Exchange officially came into operation in 2005. At present, HANOI STOCK EXCHANGE is running 3 separate markets for listed stocks, government bonds and securities of unlisted public companies (UPCoM). With the robust development in market scale, trading volume, number of members, Hanoi Stock Exchange has consistently attracted strong interests of domestic and foreign investors, marking substantial contributions to Vietnam’s economic development.
