A slight fall of blue chips on the HCM City exchange this morning kept shares in check, with the VN-Index rising just 0.08 per cent to 378.52 points.


Trading improved slightly with more than 13 million shares, worth VND311.4 billion (US$14.9 million), changing hands.


Among the top 30 shares on the bourse, Phu My Fertiliser (DPM), real estate company VinGroup (VIC), Sacombank (STB) and confectioner Kinh Do Corp (KDC) declined from 0.5-1.1 per cent.


At the other end of the spectrum, Eximbank (EIB), Vietcombank (VCB), food processor Masan Group (MSN) and software producer FPT Corp (FPT) all increased by under 1 per cent.


The VN30 was down 0.07 per cent to 443.98 points.


Tan Tao Investment Industry (ITA) is temporarily the most active trader with over 552,000 shares, closing flat at VND3,900 a share.


Meanwhile, the HNX-Index on the Ha Noi bourse slid 0.31 per cent to close this morning at 50.91 points with trading value falling to just over VND43 billion ($2.1 million).


Two codes saw trades of more than 1 million shares, including Sai Gon-Ha Noi Bank (SHB) with 1.35 million shares traded and property developer Sacomreal (SCR) with 1.09 million shares exchanged.
While SHB continued to close unchanged at VND4,800 a share, SCR share value rose 2.44 per cent to VND4,200 each.
