The Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index continued to advance further on April 28 despite sharp sell-off. The index of 224 companies and four mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange gained by 0.65 percent, or 3.48 points, to 539.2. Liquidity on the southern market was rather high as around 60.9 million shares were changed hands at VND2.28 trillion.
On the index, 103 stocks advanced, 86 declined, and 39 remained flat.
Ba Ria Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (BTP), and the HCMC-based Pacific Property and Infrastructure Development and Investment Joint Stock Company (PPI), which rose the daily maximum allowed limit of 5 percent to VND12,600, and VND39,900 respectively, were the biggest gainers on the city bourse.
Sonadezi Long Thanh (SZL), which operates in real estate section, closed up 4.96 percent to trade at VND42,300.
Viettronics Tan Binh Joint Stock Company (VTB) climbed 4.95 percent to VND19,100.
Song Da Urban & Industrial Zone Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (SJS), which saw 2.12 million shares being traded, topped the list of the most active stock in volume.
Saigon Commercial Bank or Sacombank (STB) came next with 2.04 million shares, followed by Pha Lai Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (PPC) with 1.67 million shares.
An Giang Fisheries Import & Export Joint Stock Company (AGF), and Hang Xanh Motors Service Joint Stock Company (HAX) led the losers on the market. Both closed down 4.74 percent to VND36,200, and VND18,100 respectively.
Van Ngoc Truong Son, Head of the Board of Control of Hang Xanh Motors Service Joint Stock Company, registered to sell 7,000 shares from April 29 to June 29 to balance family finances.
Hanoi Maritime Holding Company (MHC) lost 4.63 percent to VND10,300.
The Hanoi’s HNX-Index edged up 0.29 percent, or 0.51 points, to close at 176.56 points. More than 42.9 million shares, worth 1.53 trillion, changed hands.
The UPCoM-Index gained 0.96 points to 45.4. A total of 307,215 shares was traded at VND5.2 billion.
