The VN-Index's rally slowed down after increasing by 0.29 per cent to close at 462.05 on the HCM City Stock Exchange on October 07. The bourse's value decreased by 6 per cent to VND983 billion (US$50.4 million) after 37.34 million shares changed hands.

Decliners outnumbered advancers by 163-58.
Of the 10 largest capitalised shares, FPT Corp (FPT), Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG),Masan Group (MSN), Vincom (VIC), Bao Viet Holdings (BVH) and Phu My Fertiliser (DPM) advanced, of which the latter two's shares rose to their ceiling price.
Phu My Fertiliser (DPM) became the most actively traded stock on the southern bourse with 1.9 million shares changing hands.
Saigon Securities Inc analysts said continuously rising gold prices and strong fluctuation on the foreign currency market drove select institutional investors, particularly foreigners, who increased their investment in securities.
In Ha Noi, the HNX-Index declined 1.78 per cent to close at 122.62.
The bourse's market volume dropped by 20 per cent over yesterday's figures to almost 23 million shares worth nearly VND539 billion ($27.6 million).
Losers largely outnumbered gainers by 208-76.
Of the 10 largest capitalised shares, Bao Viet Securities (BVS), Tien Phong Plastics (NTP), PetroVietnam Insurance (PVI) and PetroVietnam Technical Services (PVS) rallied.
PetroVietnam Construction (PVX) continued to be the most active share nationwide with 2.7 million shares changing hands. PVX dropped by 0.43 per cent to close at an average of VND22,700 ($1.16) per share.
