Shares continued to climb on the HCM City Stock Exchange this morning as investor confidence strengthened after a long rising phase.

The benchmark VN-Index edged up another 0.26 per cent to stand at 411.05 points, while the VN30 tracking performance of the top 30 shares on the bourse was up 0.11 per cent at 481.36 points.

Advancers outnumbered losers by 101-87 while 125 codes closed unchanged.
Nearly 34.8 million shares, worth VND438.4 billion (US$21 million) changed hands by the end of the morning.

Hoang Quan Consulting, Trading, Service Real Estate Corp (HQC) was the most active code on the southern bourse with almost two million shares traded. It was closely followed by another property developer, Kinh Bac City Development (KBC), on trades of 1.75 million shares.

HQC jumped 4.44 per cent to VND4,700 a share while KBC climbed 3.51 per cent to VND5,900 each.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also increased 0.2 per cent to close this morning's session at 56.26 points. Trading value reached VND224.5 billion ($10.7 million).
Saigon -Hanoi Bank (SHB) was the most hunted stock with nearly 7 million shares exchanged, rising 3.57 per cent at VND5,800 a share.
