FPT Corporation reported pre-tax profit of VND399 billion (US$17.2 million) on revenues of VND2.25 trillion ($96.98 million) in July, year-on-year increases of 31.7 per cent and 19.6 per cent. For the first seven months of the year they rose to VND2.538 trillion ($109.35 million) and VND14.742 trillion ($635.15 million), up 27.5 per cent and 21.8 per cent.
A key growth driver of FPT, the technology sector recorded revenues and profits of VND8.218 trillion and VND1.036 trillion, up 26.7 per cent and 43.4 per cent year-on-year.
Global IT services fetched revenues of VND5.852 trillion and profits of VND896 billion.
The telecom sector reported revenues rose by 17.6 per cent to VND5.809 billion and profits by 13.4 per cent to VND972 billion.
FPT has been listed in the Nikkei Asia 300 for a fifth year in a row. The list offers a glimpse of the players aiming to be dominant forces in the 21st century and multinationals poised to challenge established western brands.
The picks are based on sales in the most recent fiscal year, followed by an assessment, analysis of growth, profitability, and financial efficiency of the companies with consideration also given to growth potential and geographic balance to bring into sharper relief ASEAN economies in particular.
