Sales of Hoa Phat construction steel grew nearly 30 per cent year-on-year to nearly 940,000 tonnes in the first four months of the year. Hoa Phat Group said it shipped nearly 95,000 tonnes of steel overseas during the January-April period, up 22 per cent from the same period in 2018.
According to Do Minh Quy, director of Hoa Phat Group’s branch in HCM City, sales had increased markedly in the civil construction area.
Thanks to the completion of a construction steel production line at the Hoa Phat Dung Quat iron and steel complex, sales of steel in the southern region were 3.5 times higher than the amount recorded in the same period last year.
The group plans to produce 3.3 million tonnes of construction steel in 2019.
