Shares were mixed on the two national stock exchanges this morning but ebbing values on both bourses are now the biggest concern for investors.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index recouped 0.28 per cent from yesterday's loss, closing this morning's session at 391.47 points.

Trading was still sluggish, with just 15.2 million shares, worth VND312 billion (US$15 million), changing hands.

Some bank shares recovered this morning. Vietinbank (CTG), Vietcombank (VCB) and Eximbank (EIB) all rose 0.6-1.4 per cent. EIB was the most active with a total trade of nearly 1.4 million shares. It closed up 1.4 per cent at VND14,700 ($0.70) a share.

Most of other large-cap shares fell, however. Losers outnumbered gainers by 105-69 overall.
The VN30 tracking the top 30 shares on the southern bourse was up 0.07 per cent to 454.86 points.

The HNX-Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange continued to fall another 0.81 per cent to 56 points with a total turnover of just VND82 billion ($3.9 million).
Fallers edged risers by 109-40.

VNDirect Securities (VND) was the most active share this morning with more than 1.2 million shares changing hands, closely followed by PetroVietnam Construction (PVX) with over one million shares traded.

VND closed flat at VND9,000 a share, but PVX lost 4.4 per cent to finish at VND4,300 a share.
Trading will resume at 1pm.
