Shares extended last week's rally on both national stock exchanges this morning.
The benchmark VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange added 0.54 per cent to 435.77 points, as advancers overwhelmed decliners by 110-70.

The VN30 index, which represents the city's 30 best stocks led by capitalisation and liquidity, also edged up 0.7 per cent to stand at 519.22 points.

VN30's blue chips performed well, with only infrastructure investment group Tan Tao (ITA) retreating 1.5 per cent.

The overall value of trades on the southern bourse increased slightly compared to last Friday morning's level to VND499.7 billion (US$23.7 million) on a volume of over 27 million shares.
Military Bank (MBB) was the most active listed code with 1.6 million shares changing hands.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index put on 0.1 per cent, reaching 70.42 points.

Investors traded 20.3 million shares, worth a total value of VND204 billion ($9.7 million), jumping 35 per cent in terms of trading value over the previous morning session.

Major stocks in Ha Noi helped the HNX30 inch up by only 0.04 per cent to 134.73 points.
VNDirect Securities Co (VND) became the most active stock nationwide, witnessing nearly 2.2 million shares exchanged.

The two bourses will reopen at 1pm.
