Shares lost value after posting gains earlier this morning.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index finished at 413.67 points, a 0.3 per cent decrease compared to yesterday's close.


Up to a half of all listed shares were decliners.

Trading value, however, jumped 59 per cent above yesterday morning's level to VND358.9 billion (US$17 million) on a volume of 21.6 million shares.

The VN30, tracking the southern bourse's 30 leading shares in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, edged down 0.2 per cent to 489.78 points. This was caused by the tumble of 13 blue chips.

Meanwhile, on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0.9 per cent - down to 69.46 points.

Losers overwhelmed gainers by 140-50.

The value and volume of trades remained quite the same as yesterday morning's level at VND230.7 billion ($10.9 million) and 23.5 million shares.

The HNX30, composed of 30 top shares in Ha Noi, retreated nearly 1 per cent to reach 132.22 points.
