Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index almost unchanged over the previous day on June 17 as investors were cautious.
The shares of 236 companies and four mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange inched up 0.04 points, or 0.01 percent, to 510.76 points.
Among the index members, 84 gained, 105 fell, while 51 remained unchanged.
Liquidity on the market maintained at fair level as more than 53.9 million shares changed hands at VND1.42 trillion.
Ocean Group Joint Stock Company (OCG) returned to the position of most active share in volume with 2.93 million shares changing hands. Vietnam Electricity Construction Joint Stock Corporation (VNE) followed with 1.48 million shares. Vien Dong Investment Development Trading Corporation (VID) was next with 1.46 million shares.
Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company (FMC), Ha Tien Transport Joint Stock Company (HTV), and House Viet Nam Joint Stock Company (NVN) all added up the daily maximum allowed limit of 5 percent to VND16,800, VND16,800 and VND35,700 respectively.
South Logistics Joint Stock Company (STG) advanced 4.99 percent to VND42,100 from 40,100 yesterday.
MT Gas Joint Stock Company (MTG) dropped by 5 percent to VND30,400.
DIC Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (DIC) traded at VND32,400, down 4.99 percent.
Meanwhile, the Hanoi’s HNX-Index lost 1.38 points, or 0.84 percent, to close at 162.25 points. Around 44.8 million shares were traded valued at VND1.47 trillion.
The UPCoM-Index slightly rose 0.03 points this morning. A total of 104,363 shares changed hands at VND1.7 billion.
On international market, Dow Jones Industrial Average index added 0.05 percent, or 4.69 points, to 10,409.46 points. The Nasdaq Composite index almost unchanged, while S&P 500 index closed down 0.06 percent.
FTSE 100 rose 0.39 percent, or 20.1 points, to 5,237.92.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 index declined 0.66 percent. China’s Shanghai Composite index slid 0.06 percent.
