The shares of 236 companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange dipped on June 15 as stocks on Wall Street declined on Monday.
Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index slid 0.06 percent, or 0.31 points, to 508.01 points. Around 48.88 million shares worth VND1.41 trillion changed hands.
On the city bourse, 86 stocks gained, 104 declined, and 50 moved flat.
Ocean Group Joint Stock Company (OGC) was the most active share in volume with 3.85 million shares changing hands.
Vietnam Electricity Construction Joint Stock Corporation (VNE) came in next with 3.18 million shares, followed by Petro Vietnam Transportation Corporation (PVT) with 1.38 million shares being traded.
Electronic consumer products producer Son Ha International Corporation (SHI) and Ocean Group Joint Stock Company (OGC) climbed up 4.99 percent to VND35,800 and VND40,000 respectively.
Seafood Joint Stock Company No.4 (TS4) added up 4.96 percent to trade at VND42,300 from VND40,300 previous day.
Godaco Seafood Joint Stock Company (AGD), which lost 4.85 percent, led the losers on southern market.
Other losers included House Viet Nam Joint Stock Company (NVN), Industrial Urban Development Joint Stock Company No.2 (D2D), and Dong A Plastic Group Joint – Stock Company (DAG).
The Hanoi’s HNX-Index surged 0.69 points, or 0.43 percent, to 160.45 points. Trading volume was at nearly 38.98 million shares worth VND1.26 trillion.
The UPCoM-Index inched up 0.07 points to 45.86. A total of 210,913 shares traded at VND3.55 billion.
Globally, Dow Jones Industrial Average index and Hong Kong’s Hang Sheng index lost 0.2 percent. S&P 500 index dropped 0.18 percent. FTSE 100 sank 0.62 percent. France’s CAC 40 declined 0.41 percent. Korea’s Kospi index slipped 0.03 percent.
Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index rose 0.08 percent. China’s Shanghai Composite index went up 0.29 percent. Taiwan’s Taiex advanced 0.9 percent.
