Shares rose steadily Monday morning with 68 per cent of codes posting gains on both of the nation's stock exchanges.






In HCM City, the VN-Index gained another 1.32 per cent over Friday to close today's session at 406.03 points.
Gainers overwhelmed losers by 216-34, with nearly half of the gainers hitting the daily limit of 5 per cent.
Most of blue chips rose, with Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) – the most active stock on a volume of 2.65 million shares – hitting its ceiling price of VND19,100 ($0.92).
Food producer Masan Group (MSN), one of the 10 largest shares by market capitalisation, surprised the market by dropping 1 per cent to close at VND100,000 ($4.81) a share.
Trading value increased slightly to VND474 billion (US$22.8 million) with more than 31.2 million shares changing hands.
In Ha Noi, the HNX-Index posted a more substantial gain of 3.54 per cent to finish at 69.92 points.
Advancers were nearly six times decliners, with 133 of 248 hitting their ceiling prices. However, the market value fell slightly to almost VND363.5 billion ($17.5 million) on a volume of over 34 million shares.
PetroVietnam Construction (PVX) claimed most active stock with nearly 4.2 million shares exchanged, up 5.5 per cent in value to close at VND11,600 ($0.56).
