On the HCM Stock Exchange, the Vn-Index gained 1.32 per cent to 431.03 points on Tuesday. Two thirds of the listed codes advanced, with nearly 65 shares hitting the daily limit of 5 per cent.


However, the value of trades dropped 7 per cent from yesterday's session to VND390.96 billion (US$19 million) while the trading volume added 6 per cent to 25.4 million shares.
Six out of the 10 largest shares by capitalisation gained 0.4-3.4 per cent. Sacombank (STB) shares, which saw a sharp increase in the previous session, closed the day down 0.8 per cent. Software giant FPT (FPT) also slightly fell 0.2 per cent. Meanwhile, Eximbank (EIB) and real estate developer Vincom (VIC) remained unchanged.
Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) claimed the highest trading volume of 1.8 million shares exchanged. It hit the ceiling price to VND18,100 per share.
Notably, shares of PetroVietnam's subsidiaries listed on the southern bourse all advanced today.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the benchmark HNX-Index climbed 1.78 per cent to close the day at 74.31 points.
Gainers outnumbered losers by three-to-one.
Market value jumped 55 per cent to VND330.9 billion ($16 million) on a volume of 29.2 million shares after yesterday's plunge to the lowest value in two months.
Kim Long Securities Company (KLS) continued to be the most-active share nation-wide, with 3.7 million shares changing hands.
