On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index plunged 2.2 per cent, to close at 433.81 points. Losers outnumbered gainers by 117-90.


Both trade value and volume halved over last Friday's session to VND419.8 billion (US$20 million) on a volume of 22.9 million shares.
Out of the 10 largest capitalised shares, food producer Masan Group (MSN) and real estate developer Vincom (VIC) bottomed out. Only fertiliser producer Phu My (DPM), property developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) and Sacombank (STB) closed unchanged, while five others lost between 0.9-4 per cent.
Sai Gon Securities Inc (SSI) had the most active shares with 2 million changing hands.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index fell 0.4 per cent to close at 73.60 points.
Over a half of all listed codes lost points.
Trade value only reached 45.4 per cent of the last session's figure, closing at VND346.5 billion ($16.5 million) while trade volume dived 55.2 per cent to 30.6 million shares.
PetroVietnam Construction saw the highest trading volume with 3.6 million shares exchanged.
