The official result of the credit rating of listed companies will not be released for a few more days, but it has been announced that nearly 40% of listed companies got AAA, the highest grade in the ratings.
The Credit Information Centre (CIC) under the State Bank of Vietnam is going to announce the results of the credit rating of listed companies on the bourse and distribute the publication: “Credit ratings of listed companies on the bourse in 2008”.
According to CIC, 293 listed companies on the Hanoi and HCM City bourses evaluated (not including four investment funds). Of this amount, 117 companies got the highest grade AAA, accounting for 39.93% of total companies, while 170 companies were ranked from BB to AA, accounting for 58.02% of companies.
Meanwhile, other companies rank at the average grade, and no company ranks as a bad company.
CIC used data from the 2007 audited financial reports and financial information provided by listed companies through June 30, 3008.
Dr Dao Quang Thong, Deputy Director of CIC, said that the data CIC has got shows the good business performances of the companies on the two bourses.
The credit rating of listed companies in 2008 was carried out by CIC and Dun & Bradstreet, a US-based provider of international and US business credit information and credit reports.
