Digiworld Corporation has reported a 46 per cent increase in revenues year-on-year in the second quarter to over VND2 trillion (US$85.7 million). This is a new quarterly record though the second quarter is the low season for sales, a company release said.
Profit after tax was VND35.3 billion ($1.5 million), a 56 per cent increase.
First half revenues were VND3.4 trillion ($145 million), and profit, VND60 billion ($2.6 million), up 28 per cent and 43 per cent.
Digiworld attributed the excellent results to its efforts to boost growth in every segment, especially consumer goods, which in the first six months saw sales grow by 170 per cent to VND116 billion ($4.9 million).
The office equipment segment grew by 22 per cent to VND589 billion ($25.3 million).
The mobile phone business achieved revenues of VND1.6 trillion ($69 million), an increase of 29 per cent.
The company has an 8 per cent smartphone market share compared to 6 per cent a year earlier.
The laptop and tablet business achieved revenues of VND1.12 trillion ($48.2 million), an increase of 23 per cent. It has a 30 per cent market share compared to 28 per cent in 2018.
The company, established in 1997, is the authorised distributor of more than 30 global technology brands and has a distribution network of 16,000 outlets.
