View Full Version : Stock market witnesses a whole month of losses

The domestic stock market continued to experience a drop on the last trading session in May today, May 30. This is the first time the market has witnessed a whole month of losses.

Trading on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange resumed today after being suspended for thee sessions due to a technical error.

The VN-Index reported another decrease of 6.41 points or 1.52% to close at 414.10 points.

Thus, with all 17 declining sessions throughout the whole month, the VN-Index lost 108.26 points.

Of the total 154 listed stocks on the southern bourse, only five managed gains, two others stayed unchanged, two had no trade and the remaining 144 stocks were losers.

Total market trading volume was over 4.7 million shares and fund certificates traded via both order matching and negotiation method for VND 175 billion.

Foreign investors today bought 2.3 million units worth VND 85 billion while selling nearly 724,000 units worth VND 36 billion.

The only five gainers this session include ITA, DMC, SGT, SDN and SCD.

VIC topped the list of most traded stocks with nearly 534,000 units changing hands, followed by SGT, CII, STB and PVD.

In Hanoi, the HASTC-Index also closed a whole week of losses, dropping below 120 points.

This has been the 21st consecutive declining session at the northern bourse. The index dropped by 1.17% or 1.41 points to close at 119.31.

Investors traded a total of 2.6 million shares listed on the HASTC for VND 64 billion, down a little compared to the previous session.

There were 27 gainers against 81 losers. Seven others stayed still and 22 reported no trade at all.
